With reference to Episode 20 of ‘The Corridors of Power: The USD10 million kickback’, YB Baru Bian categorically denies RPK’s allegations that he had introduced Azam dan Azan Sdn Bhd (AASB) to YB Tian Chua for the purpose of seeking a ‘political solution’ to the company’s problems in return for a USD10 million kickback.
The representative of AASB whom YB Baru is alleged to have introduced to YB Tian Chua is not named in the article but YB Baru stated that this is the first time he has heard of the company and that he has no knowledge of the dealings described in the story.
"I am very amused by the latest chapter in RPK’s novel and flattered by the fact that he and his masters deem me enough of a threat to the ruling government to attempt to smear my name together with that of YB Tian Chua and Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.’
YB Baru added, ‘Malaysians are mature and sensible enough not to believe accusations made without any supporting evidence. We expect more of these baseless stories to be manufactured in the next few months as we approach the 13th General Elections. Such is the extent of desperation on the part of those with vested interests.’
YB Baru will be conferring with party leaders in KL on the appropriate action to be taken against RPK.
