I COULDN’T agree more with political analyst Khoo Khay Peng that the ‘Chua-Lim’ debate lacked bite.
What do you expect in a debate that is organised by MCA and pro-MCA organisations? All the mainstream media and TV stations are controlled by Barisan Nasional (BN). Did DAP secretary-general and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng hoped for fair coverage?
Even the composition of the live audience was controlled for MCA’s rowdy, immature and low-intelligence boot-lickers to drown intelligent questions and views that did not favour the BN and MCA.
Waste of Guan Eng's time to debate with such an immoral CSL
Prior to the debate, I had expressed doubts over what can be achieved in such a debate.
I had asked: Why should Guan Eng accept to debate with Dr Chua Soi Lek, a man who lost all moral to lead the people or community. MCA claims to represent the Chinese community but how many voted for MCA in 2008?
I am a Chinese and I am so ashamed of this MCA, a party that supports immorality.
I also wrote: “It is also equally puzzling why Chua would want such a debate when the stakes are stacked against him. When MCA cannot even defend the dignity of the Chinese when publicly insulted by Ibrahim “Perkasa” Ali, do you really expect him to be able to defend the misdeeds and corruption-saddled BN? Can he really tick off the misdeeds of Umno for allowing Ibrahim to freely spew seditious garbage against Christians and non-Muslims in a bid to fan emotions and racial hatred?”
Of porno Chua and gutless Najib
Many readers on the internet also expressed the view that the debate will not bring about any benefit to Malaysians. What will benefit Malaysians and Malaysia is a debate between the Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.
These are currently the two men who can shape the political landscape and future of the country because they are in positions of political power. Not Lim or, worse still, porno or zina Chua.”
And what was the response of Najib? He only had the guts to show up at the debate for publicity and to legitimise the event.
What happed to all the real issues that matter to Malaysians and the country? Both leaders were only touching the surface of issues that affect Malaysians and Chua on his favourite “Hudud”. Why can’t Chua defend the BN government’s declaration that Malaysia is an Islamic State? Hudud is just an Islamic criminal law and is only a part of an Islamic State’s administration!
And why is BN-Umno-Perkasa-Utusan Malaysia allowing Chua to run down Hudud and Islam?
This I must laugh and highlight! MCA’s mouthpiece, The Star, had this headline: “Chua: If Umno falls, PAS will benefit more, not DAP or PKR”.
I would say: “If Umno falls, all BN coalition parties fall together with their racist Perkasa, Utusan Malaysia, etc”.
Chua, Malaysians are not as stupid as you
Chua, don’t insult my and Malaysians’ intelligence. If PR comes to power, how many seats does PAS have? Why do you fear PAS and Hudud? Only criminals and those who support zina or adultery fear Hudud! This is an out-of-date issue because Malaysia is already an Islamic State.
What the people are concerned now are real issues that affect the social and economic health of communities and our nation. We are concerned with issues concerning justice and fair play, freedom of speech and democracy, not race and religion. If not, what is 1Malaysia?
Clearly, The Star’s “Chua: If Umno falls, PAS will benefit more, not DAP or PKR” is an outrageous silly spin like many other headlines in the paper.
Who will bankrupt Malaysia first - BN or Pakatan?
The most important point that I see is Chua’s assertion that “Pakatan will bankrupt the nation in two years”. This is certainly true and accurate for BN.
Isn’t Malaysians worried about Malaysia’s fast growing debts, at RM455 billion or up 11.9 per cent last year compared with 2010?
Isn’t the Global Financial Integrity (GFI) report that identified Malaysia as the 4th most corrupt nation in the world, losing a total of US$338 billion (RM1.08 trillion) in illicit outflows over the first decade of the century worrying?
Were all these the result of PR or BN? There is also a long list of some 100 financial scandals, and the list is growing by the day with Cowgate and 1Care’s unhealthy scheme for the pockets of Malaysians, that has gone viral in the internet. The list totals trillions of ringgit!
Like what some internet readers have posted to the effect: “Malaysia is already almost a bankrupt nation. I rather have PR bankrupting the nation for the benefit of Malaysians than BN bankrupting the nation for their own pockets.”
